I was ordained as a conservative Rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York in 1999 and came to GLT in 2009 to serve as spiritual leader. I have always had a special interest in Finding new ways to experience the ancient and timeless wisdom of our tradition in contemporary and impactful ways. For me, the most important goal of a synagogue community is to foster a meaningful connection to being Jewish for every participant, whether in religious services, marking significant moments in life, or in getting together with family or friends.

    "Yeah, so you are really open to all wines? I like the wine not the label. Does that make sense?" In this quick conversation between David Rose and Stevie Budd on the first season of the series Schitt's Creek David responds to Stevie's confusion that the man she thought was gay was also attracted to her. No metaphor is perfect but "the wine and not the label" has been widely cheered as a powerful way of directly talking about bisexuality and pansexuality within the larger conversation of human sexuality and gender. Wine is also used in the celebration of Tu Bishvat, the New Year for the Trees, to symbolize the deeper mysteries of the changing seasons and non-binary diversity of the sensual world. Zoom Link
